Today on the show, I am joined by Certified Financial Planner™ and Battalion Chief Leo Nunez.

Leo has been in the fire service for 25 years. He got involved as a trustee of his department's pension plan and began to develop a passion for personal finance.

Through his involvement in the pension plan, he realized that his brothers and sisters in the fire service were not being provided the tools to allow them to be financially successful.

So, in 2010, Leo and his partner and fellow Battalion Chief James Estep started Everest Financial Advisors.

Leo and James were the inspiration behind me starting my firm. I heard the two of them on a podcast dedicated to financial planning, and the whole way home from the fire station, I was grinning ear to ear to hear that these guys were doing exactly what I hoped to do.

So, you can only imagine how excited I was to chat with him.

I had a great time talking to him; there's a ton of great advice in there around how to manage your money as a firefighter, so please pay attention and enjoy.
